WHO WE ARE
Subsurface is a full service engineering and environmental drilling contracting company (operating since 2007). Our services include:
Geotechnical & Environmental Drilling and Testing, Groundwater Well Development, Deep Injection Drainage Well Installations, Monitoring Well Installations, Augered Piling Installation, Environmental Site Assessments, and Subsurface Geophysical Surveys.
Our staff is trained to the highest international health & safety standards (HSE) – Chevron Texaco, Exxon Mobil Loss Prevention System LPS, Shell Permit to Work System, and OSHA 40 hour training, and to retrieve and handle samples according to standard international protocols, and materials testing standards (ASTM International). We work with a number of overseas certified labs for soil and water analysis. Subsurface is a Corporate Member of the Caribbean Water & Waste Water Association (CWWA)
We maintain two (2) fully-tooled mobile B80 drill rigs, and access to a track mounted 6600 Geoprobe rig, and tripod rig, among other drilling, testing equipment, and instrumentation, and are staffed by well qualified US-trained drillers with extensive experience in the US and throughout the Caribbean. Subsurface has a strategic partnership with Drill Tech Caribbean Inc. (DTCI) an environmental and geotechnical drilling firm based in Maryland USA, giving Subsurface expanded technical capability and reach throughout the region.
We also provide a range of subsurface imaging services including Electromagnetic Imaging Surveys (EMS), Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) scans for utilities and various underground anomalies. In collaboration with highly qualified US experts, we also provide a number of sophisticated geophysical study services. We also utilize a down-hole video camera recording equipment.
OUR MANAGEMENT TEAM
The Founding Partner and a Director of Subsurface is Robert St. E. Atkinson, who brings 30 years of a broad range of drilling and environmental experience to the table. Robert has worked in the UK, the US, and throughout the Caribbean. He splits his time between the US, where he owns and operates an environmental drilling company with close ties to Subsurface. All projects awarded to Subsurface will have the personal attention of Robert St. E. Atkinson (who functions as Operations Manager) who has over twenty five years in the drilling industry. Mr. Atkinson’s experience includes, both land and off shore petroleum drilling throughout Europe, the Caribbean, and Africa. As well as, environmental, water well, and geotechnical drilling services throughout the United States, US Virgin and Caribbean Islands.
Robert is also certified in Geotechnical Subsurface Investigation Methods (National Highway Institute).
Kevin Seale is the managing partner and director of Subsurface. Kevin brings to bear more than 20 years experience in private consulting practice as a project manager, geologist, and project engineer specific to the petroleum sector, real estate and land development planning, and civil/environmental engineering which included construction management and undertaking technical and field studies. Kevin has provided regional project management, construction management and engineering support services in the past 18 years. In addition to supervising environmental assessments, and property remediation projects throughout the English, Dutch, and French speaking Caribbean and South America. Kevin functions as Project Manager for Subsurface.
